People frequently wonder about the difference between a condo association and an HOA.
Homeowners associations (HOAs) are typically comprised of owners in planned developments, where there are separate lots and homes. Condo associations are basically the same thing within a complex that has one or more large buildings that are comprised of condominiums, apartments or townhomes. In this case the association is responsible for the exterior of the structure(s) as well as the common property.
